Run Mojave On Unsupported Mac

Run

Jul 16, 2018 macOS Mojave Patcher is an application that lets you run macOS 10.14 on unsupported hardware. It is developed by developer Dosdude who also developed similar patches for Sierra and High Sierra firmware.

  • Today I will tell you how to install macOS Mojave or other fresh macOS on an unsupported Mac using the Mojave Patcher Tool. This utility is available for free. You can see more information and patcher updates here on a dosdude site. You carry out all actions with the computer and the program at your own peril and risk!
  • I've already read the Apple article about how to install Mojave on a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro, but it isn't helpful. The article tells you to: Press and hold the Option key while choosing Apple ( ) menu System Information. In the sidebar, select Graphics/Displays. If your graphics card is compatible, you see 'Supported' next to the Metal entry.

Run Mojave On Unsupported Mac Os

I need to investigate that a bit more. It's possible that this is a result of the hack but I had a different suspicion. The drive originally had El Capitan on it (HFS+) and I did an upgrade install rather than clean install. I think that's the reason the formatting was left untouched. I suspect that if I had done a clean insntallation the drive could have been converted to APFS.
I've got an extra day off from work coming up this weekend. I may try a clean install just for the heck of it and see what happens.
